Connecticut finally gets its AI law
Ned Lamont signed SB 5 into law on May 29, 2026. If you're using an AI companion, a hiring chatbot, or a subscription-based AI service in the state, new rules now apply to the companies selling them to you. Frontier models and synthetic content are covered too, making this a broad law likely to serve as a template for other US states.
